NATURALLY DRUNK

NATURALLY DRUNK 7.31.11 written on flight en route to Boston

Am I drunk?
Am I drunk synthetically, no naturally
I don’t need to put something in my veins to make me feel alive
It’s by my very blood my energy thrives
And it seems like a simple question, but it’s actually a human nature mirror session
For it’s truly destructive to think you need to ingest something to make you happy
I’ll talk to you and smile without drinking a frappy
But don’t get me wrong, yes I like my drinks
They might not make me sing but they can make our conversation ring
But once I think I need them for conversation it’s sign of human dehabilitation, a sign of deprogress
For although I can’t say the rest it’s truly a test to see how my greed becomes need
And yes indeed it does and once you start feeding the hunger it can become a raptor continuously searching for prey, til its very last day
So stop, notice, take it slow, meditate and ask yourself, do I need this or is it just part of supposed mandatory social business?
So reflect and I’ll see you on cloud nine with the substances left behind
